Statement of duties: Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for transcription of patient medical information and other assigned typing duties using transcribing and word processing equipment.
Duties include: * Typing and proofing histories, physicals, consults, slides, operatives, test results or other medical information from physicians; * Maintaining records of incoming and completed transcriptions; * Assuring chronological typing order andor urgency of assigned work; * Typing of letters, other correspondence and special reports as requested; * Verifying the accuracy of patient information on file; * Answering the telephone and responding to enquiries on routine information in accordance with established procedures; * Duplicating documents and other forms as requested; * Maintaining patient confidentiality; and, * Performing other related duties within the clinic as assigned.
